Kilkenny, Ireland Closed 1998 & Demolished The classic! Anon. The Regent Cinema was a theater in Kilkenny City that opened in 1947 as the “New Cinema.” It was renamed the “Regent in 1951 and closed in 1998. It was demolished a year later and replaced with a block of flats and a clinic.
