Miss that store and its amazing selection. But maybe not the superior attitude. Anon

Other Music was a New York music store that was known for its closely curated selection of underground, rare and experimental music. It was located at 15 E. 4th Street from1995 to 2016 when rent increases and changes in the music business led to its closure. Amanda Petrusich wrote in The New Yorker, “In 1999, if you were the type of person who was looking for something a little different (more challenging, more sophisticated, more esoteric) from the schlock being peddled to the herds of dead-eyed automatons browsing the Tower Records up the block, then here was the store for you! In 2019, former staffer Rob Hatch-Miller and his wife Puloma Basu, directed a documentary about the store celebrating its “legacy as one of New York City’s most important musical landmarks.”
