I’m missing the smell of the smoked hams and the beautiful display of all the sausages hanging along the tiled wall. Margarete H.

Dietze’s Bavarian Wurst Haus was a German restaurant and purveyor of German specialty foods located on Appleton Avenue in Milwaukee. It opened in the 1960s and specialized in German sausages. It closed in the early 1990s. I don’t know who took the photograph on which this painting is based.
